Regional Reports

Regional 'Heritage Counts' reports are prepared by English Heritage on behalf of the Regional Historic Environment Forums. These documents can be downloaded from the appropriate regional page.

The new Western concourse King's Cross is a giant half dome of steel sprouting from the foot of the Grade I listed building and spreading out next to it. Travellers passing through it look like little flies under a giant spiderweb roof!

The redevelopment has integrated the requirements of a 21st century transport hub with the restoration of the Grade I listed structure. The project was the winner of the British Construction Industry’s Conservation Award in 2012.
